Big Day Paper
Privacy Policy
Last updated 25 October 2026
You share some of the most personal stories of your life with us. This page explains, plainly, what we collect, why, who helps us, how long we keep it, and how to have it deleted.
Who we are
Big Day Paper is run by Vanilla Entertainment Inc., a company incorporated in the State of Delaware, United States. Vanilla Entertainment Inc. is the controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
Registered office: 108 W. 13th Street, Suite 100, Wilmington, DE 19801, United States.

What we collect
- Your email address, so we can save your answers, send your preview and sign you in.
- Your answers: names, dates, places, stories, quotes and anything else you type in.
- Your photos, if you add them.
- Words from others, if you share a link so a partner or family member can add their part.
- Order details: what you ordered, when, and whether you paid. Our payment processor handles your card. We never see or store your full card number.
- A delivery name and address, if you order printed copies.
- Technical details: your browser, device and IP address, which our hosting and error-monitoring tools record to keep the site working and safe.
Memorial papers and other sensitive details
A memorial paper may include grief, illness, faith and family details. A wedding paper may too. Share only what you're comfortable sharing. We use these details only to make your paper. We never put them in marketing or analytics.
Details about other people
Your paper is about other people as well as you. When you give us their names, stories or photos, you confirm you're allowed to share them for this purpose.
How we use your information
We use it to:
- save your answers and show you a preview;
- write, lay out and deliver your paper;
- print and ship copies, if you order them;
- sign you in and send you emails about your paper;
- answer your questions and fix problems;
- prevent abuse and keep the site secure;
- keep the records the law requires.
We don't sell your information. We don't use your stories or photos to advertise.
Who helps us
We use a small number of trusted providers. Each gets only what it needs to do its job:
- Vercel hosts our website.
- Neon stores our database.
- Anthropic provides the AI writing tool that helps us write your paper. It receives your answers.
- Google provides the venue and town search. It receives what you type into that search box.
- Resend sends our emails. It receives your email address and the email.
- Sentry tells us when something on the site breaks. We remove personal details from its reports.
- Our payment processor takes your payment.
- Our photo-editing provider fits and tidies your photos for the page, after you pay.
- Secure cloud storage keeps your photos and finished files.
- Our print partner prints and ships your copies, if you order them. It receives your print files and delivery address.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or if our business is sold or merged (the new owner would keep this promise).
Cookies and browser storage
- If you sign in, we set one cookie that keeps you signed in for 30 days. It's needed for sign-in to work.
- A sign-in cookie remembers the email you typed for 10 minutes, so a reload keeps your place.
- While you answer, your browser saves your answers on your device so you don't lose them if you close the tab.
- We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels today. If we ever add them, we'll update this page first and ask where the law requires.
How long we keep your information
- Unfinished answers you haven't paid for: deleted 90 days after you last changed them, together with the email you gave.
- Your paper, photos and stories after you pay: kept while your account exists, so you can re-download or reprint. This includes memorial papers.
- If you ask us to delete: email support@bigdaypaper.com and we'll delete your paper, photos, stories and account.
- Order and payment records: kept as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after you delete your account. They don't include your stories or photos.
- Security records used to stop abuse are kept for a short time and don't contain your answers.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, send you a copy, or delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights too, such as objecting to how we use your information or complaining to your local data protection authority. Email support@bigdaypaper.com. We may need to confirm it's really you before we act.
Emails
We only send emails about your paper: sign-in codes, your preview, your files and your order. If we ever send other news, every email will have an unsubscribe link.
Children
Big Day Paper is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 16. A paper may mention children, such as a grandchild in a memorial. If you include a child's details or photo, you confirm you're their parent or guardian, or have permission.
Keeping your information safe
We use reasonable safeguards, like encrypted connections and limited staff access. No service online can promise perfect security, but we take it seriously. If something goes wrong, we'll tell you as the law requires.
Where your information is processed
Vanilla Entertainment Inc. and our providers may process your information in the United States and in other countries where we or our providers operate. Data protection laws there may differ from the laws where you live.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is important, we'll email you before it applies to information we already hold.
